The message below is from a fellow trainer, past SEAL Team member who is working to stay strong during a tough time.  Check it out and see how he draws strength from his training.

It’s cool to be strong.  We can all admit that, I believe.  We all want to stand tall under a stack of weights or with a ruck on your back on a super long arduous hike in the mountains.

It feels good to be strong. No one wants to be weak.

I thought about that today as I sat with my family.  This is what this training is really all about.  Being strong for them when the time comes.  That is what really matters.

We all know that training hard stresses the muscles and helps them grow.  Same for the brain - we put our mind in hard situations and next time it doesn't seem  quite so hard as we have grown to the next level.

All of this training is helping to keep me strong right now.  Yeah; I don't have Instructors kicking sand in my face or am racked up under a heavy barbell for a front squat.

But there is a direct link between the stresses you face physically and mentally in the gym and how then you react to real world stress.  Stronger athletes are able to cope better and be there when their families need them.”
